Toyota plans to withdraw almost 730.000 vehicle in United States and Canada to fix (Recall) due to a problem in the driver's airbag and a switch that can cause the vehicles could not be turned on.

Recall due to damage to the cable affects the United States truck Tacoma 495.000 and 17.178 in Canada with a model year 2005 to 2009. "Due to the combination of the spiral cable design steering wheel and unique characteristics of the chassis to Tacoma, friction between the spiral cable and anchoring in the spiral cable steering wheel may occur in several vehicles," Toyota said in a statement, Wednesday (7/3).

"Friction from time to time may result in a loss of connectivity to the driver's airbag module. If connectivity is lost, the airbag warning light on the instrument panel will stay lit after the vehicle is turned on and the driver's air bag may not be active, blocking the inflating airbag when an accident. "Says automotive corporate Spokesman.

The withdrawal because of a stop lamp (brake/stop lights) affect 70.500 car Camry and 116,000-Venza in the United States along with vehicle Camry and 2,379 Venza 27.737 with model year 2009 to 2011.

Toyota said it in the process to obtain the spare parts needed and will notify owners when spare parts are available. Repairs will be performed at no cost.
