The 2011 Honda CR-V Compact SUVs. It's fun, cute and practical, and it's a bargain, says Cars.com. The 2011 Honda CR-V is a Renaissance man -- or woman -- of the automotive industry. Other affordable small SUVs make up for the 2011 Honda CR-V’s shortcomings. Fuel economy on the Tiguan, however, is low. It only nets 19/26 mpg city/highway, which is pathetic in comparison to the GMC Terrain’s average of 22/32 mpg city/highway. If you want even better fuel economy, try the Ford Escape Hybrid, which gets 34/31 mpg city/highway.

The 2011 Honda CR-V has three trim options -- the base LX, mid-level EX and luxurious EX-L. Shoppers can choose between front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

Few automakers enjoy the exceptional reputation that Honda does. Although the 2011 Honda CR-V isn't expected to vary considerably from the 2010 model, it brings topnotch reliability to the table. A single 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine remains the only option; however, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are both available. For a crossover SUV in this class, the CR-V's starting MSRP of $25K is a bit high. As a crossover SUV, the Honda CR-V has always done exceptionally well. Intelli Choice 5-Year Cost of Ownership rating for the CR-V is Excellent across most of the trim styles available.

Nobody is going to go gaga over the 2011 Honda CR-V's engine. The biggest Achilles Heel that the 2011  CR-V has to deal with concerns its low-power engine. Drivers will feel firmly in control when they are behind the wheel of the 2011 CR-V.  The mediocre power of the 2011 Honda CR-V's sole engine is a definite disappointment, especially since many other crossovers in this class boast optional V6's.

Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. A sunroof is standard on the EX and EX-L and power driver seat, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control are standard on the EX-L only. The CR-V EX-L was an especially good test vehicle because the only other vehicle in our family is a 2009 CR-V.
