For those looking for funkiness, the Hyundai Veloster is your car. The hatchback is unique for the fact that its offers a three-door layout, with a door behind the passenger.
There's plenty to love about the Hyundai Veloster. It's got one door on the driver's side, two on the passenger and a big liftgate around back. The second driver's side door is reportedly being installed for markets like the UK, where the driver sits on the wrong other side (a similar problem to what Mini found with the Clubman).
While the Hyundai Veloster is made unique by it’s single door on the driver’s side and two doors on the passenger side, Hyundai is reportedly working on a 5-door hatchback version (with two doors on each side) for right-hand drive markets like the UK.
That makes for an interesting situation – the driver’s door is larger than the passenger one. The response from Hyundai about its arrival was “anything’s possible.” The i30 takes the place of the Elantra in Hyundai’s European-lineup. The previous generation car was sold as the Elantra Touring here in the United States. With the Hyundai Veloster, the question of referring to how many doors it has is tricky. Right now if you counted the hatch as a door it would be considered four-door.
