The new version of the roadster has a more powerful, lighter structure and lower levels of consumption among its novelties outstanding.
The brand new 6.0-liter biturbo V12 that hides the SL 65 AMG racing car provides the power and acceleration of excellence. It allows reaching 60 mph in just 4 seconds and a top speed of 156 mph (electronically limited).
The power plant is coupled transmission AMG Speed shift Plus 7G-tronic with four driving modes (Controlled Efficiency, Sport, Sport Plus and Manual) and plays an important role in the efficiency of fuel consumption, as well as the function ECO start / stop and especially the sharp reduction in weight shows the SL 65 AMG with respect to the previous version thanks to the body construction with aluminum to replace steel (170 kg less than before). Fuel consumption for the SL 65 AMG is 20 mpg, up 17 percent from 2012.
The AMG sports suspension also was built with light elements and was configured to provide a quick walk, dynamic yet comfortable. The driver can choose between two modes: Sport and Comfort. The response car was enhanced by an electromechanical system that assists sports steering sensitivity.
The excellence of the SL65 AMG is not only represented in its mechanics, aesthetics also responds to a range-topping vehicle. This model is the first to bear the brand new grille with two "blades" horizontal. Protruding chrome surfaces along its body and roof with Magic Sky Control technology (to control the transparency of it) as an alternative to traditional sunroof.
The interior has a really high level of luxury, with leather upholstery, premium sound system Bang & Olufsen and an information / entertainment art from numerous systems designed for comfort of the occupants.
As for safety, Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG states that one of the safest roadsters in the world thanks to its prevention mechanisms. Since deformation of body system, through its security bars to the two-stage airbags, the car is ready to provide the utmost confidence.
The SL 65 AMG will be released in September 2012.
