With the aim of changing the world of endurance racing, the Japanese company develops this innovative vehicle with unprecedented technologies.
The car is powered by an engine specially prepared to compete of 1.6 liters and four-cylinder with direct injection and a turbocharger system; it is able to disburse 300 HP. What is surprising is that this Powertrain will enable the DeltaWing to achieve lap times to be located between the achieved by LMP1 and LMP2 models with half the horsepower that present them. This is achieved because the car has about half of the weight and half of the drag of these models.
As well as a step forward in the development of auto racing, this project aims to develop techniques that can be used in cars from streets of the firm such as those used in the search of the efficiency of consumption.
Nissan joined this venture as a supplier of engines, which already involved the British designer Ben Bowly (responsible for the design of the chassis), automotive entrepreneur Don Panoz (founder of the American Le Mans Series), and legendary former drivers Dan Gurney (All American Racers owner and maintainer of the manufacture of chassis) and Duncan Dayton (the Highcroft Racing team owner) (responsible for the test and tuning for the race).
