Chrysler attracted more than 11,000 model year 2011 vehicles because of potential steering problems (steering), the U.S. government said Thursday.

Certain vehicles "may have been built with missing or incorrect installation of rivets at pivot steering column," National Highway Traffic Safety Agency (NHTSA) said in a statement on its website.

"Defects can increase the potential for injury in a frontal crash," NHTSA said. "The recall covers 11,351 vehicles: Chrysler 200, Chrysler 200 Convertible, Chrysler Town and Country, Dodge Avenger, Dodge Caliber, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, Dodge Nitro, Jeep Compass, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Patriot and Jeep Wrangler."

Drawn vehicles made ​​between April and May. Chrysler told NHTSA recall on June 7.
