Aston Martin DB9 wraps renewed in Virage looks

In Paris Aston Martin Vanquish not only completely new in the spotlight. On the French exhibition is indeed also made way for the new DB9. But is that really new or we see the Virage just return?

When Aston Martin in 2004, drew the curtain of the DB9 hit the whole car world flabbergasted, such a powerful and modern design we had seldom seen. In recent years it seems the British manufacturer, however, on his laurels and depends in the base still on that 8 year old design. We hoped knowledge to go to a new DB9 but what we got was more of the same.

Virage?
When the pictures of the new DB9 Coupe and Volante figuratively at our office we have just flopped scratched behind the ears. Is this really a DB9 or Virage with new nameplates? The only external changes that we could find to the Virage, the larger spoiler on the trunk lid above a new brake light and new grilles in the hood. Do not get us wrong, the DB9 is still a beautiful car, but a model for which the years really start to count. And how ironic is it to be transformed into a DB9 Virage and then back to DB9. You can not make towards your customers?

Under the hood is fortunately some news. The DB9 is powered by the new V12 which was newly introduced in the new Vanquish. The power is due to its Gran Turismo character something scaled down and comes out 517 hp and 620 Nm. Still plenty to in 4.6 seconds to 100 km / h and only shoot at 295 km / h in red to go. Acceleration is still hand-in-hand with the six-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic. Furthermore Aston Martin promises better driving dynamics by the standard supplied Carbon Ceramic brake discs and a new variant of the Adaptive Damping System.

The new Aston Martin DB9 Coupe and Volante state as well as from next week to shine at the Paris Motor Show. The model is already at dealers in October for a minimum of € 266.857, - for the Coupe and € 283.257, - for the Volante.
