After MINI has now Ford announced from year 2013 not a factory team at the start of the WRC to appear. This leaves one of the big rally teams of the past decade the sport.

The running of a race team in high-level cost a manufacturer millions per year. It is therefore not surprising that when the economic power unlucky racing easy austerity post to the account. This marked the beginning of a long career for the Focus rally that eventually would last until 2011 and no less than 44 victories yielded. Two years ago, the Fiesta RS WRC over the baton and so far it was good for six Ford rally victories. In total knew the Ford factory team twice to win the constructors' title (2006 and 2007). The prize for the best driver never came from the Ford formation.

Reinforcement
Despite the announced departure of MINI and Ford is not doom and gloom in the future World Rally Championship. The tire tracks of the MINI Countryman WRC and Ford Fiesta RS WRC will be rapid filled by Volkswagen and Hyundai i20 and the Polo respectively at the start of the WRC will bring in 2013. Incidentally disappears Fiesta RS WRC is not completely out of the picture, the British M-Sport will be Ford's latest rally weapon remain active in the world, they are no longer with financial support from the factory.
