Hyundai continued last year a new record time at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the Koreans have thereby gotten good taste.
In collaboration with Rhys Miller Racing is already busy tinkering with the car for this year: one in Genesis based vehicle with 900 hp.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is a famous hill climb in the U.S. state of Colorado who has since 1916 are held.
Until 2012, led the drive to the top of a substrate of alternating asphalt and gravel but now all the way up. That makes the Hillclimb less spectacular and therefore has a lot of its charm. But that 'The race to the clouds' a cool event, is beyond dispute.
10 minutes
Due to the absence of gravel was for Rhys Millen last year a relatively easy task for his Hyundai Genesis Coupe under the magical 10 minutes limit for diving.
His 9:46.1 was the fastest time ever ridden on American mountain; he improved the time of the legendary Nobuhiro 'Monster' Tajima in 2011 with five seconds.
Hyundai takes for the 2013 edition of the hill climb two cars back to Colrado: Genesis which Millen won last year (photos 2 t / m 6) and a new, loosely on the Genesis based silhouette racer competing in the "unlimited class.
It is equipped with a V6 from Hyundai's Lambda engine family and with the necessary adaptations to a sloppy 900 hp and 1,100 Nm coughing. All drive goes to the rear wheels so drifting is almost guaranteed.
Rhys Millen prepares and controls the car, the driver for the Genesis Coupe will be announced later. The 2013 edition of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb takes place on 30 June.
