The all-new Hyundai Accent - available in both hatchback and sedan form - features a class-leading 138 horsepower as well as class-leading fuel economy of 30 city, 40 highway miles per gallon.

The Hyundai Accent Hatchback is available in two trim levels, both of which are unique from the GLS trim level found on the sedan model. Accent GS comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission (automatic optional with included Active ECO), a trip computer, tachometer, 14-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, power windows, mirrors and door locks, keyless entry, body-colored mirrors and door handles and more.

Stepping up to the SE will add cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, Bluetooth, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, premium cloth seats, piano black interior accents, a sliding center armrest, 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps and a rear spoiler.

The Accent is offered as a two door hatchback or a four door sedan. The Hyundai Accent is a suitable budget car. Bodystyles: Sedan, two-door hatchbackThe sportiest model, the SE, comes with 16-inch wheels (14-inchers are standard on all other models) and foglights, among other features.Air-conditioning is standard on all models except the Blue edition. Blue: 26 mpg city/36 mpg highway
GS, GLS, SE: 27-28 mpg city/34-36 mpg highway

The 2011 Hyundai Accent GL is the trim name of the modern major budget ride. The interior of the three-door hatchback (no five-door is available for any of the hatchback trims) is surprisingly spacious. The Hyundai Accent hatchback’s cargo space measures 15.9 cubic feet, also larger than the Toyota Yaris three-door's. Additionally, Hyundai notes that front passengers have class-leading legroom and rear passengers have a class-leading 53.1 inches of shoulder room. Features inside the GL are bare bones, with a heater, power steering, and six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat. Outside, the GL includes a standard rear spoiler and rear defroster, but no rear windshield wiper, limiting visibility in bad weather.

Despite the minimalist approach to interior and exterior features, the Hyundai Accent GL does use the same engine as the higher end trims (both hatchback and sedan). The front-wheel-drive subcompact delivers 110 hp at 6,000 rpm and 106 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm with impressive fuel economy numbers: 28 mpg city/34 highway. The GL's power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering plus MacPherson front struts with stabilizer bar and coupled torsion beam rear suspension match the systems in the higher-end GS and GLS trims. Safety in the GL matches the other trims for the 2011 Hyundai Accent. Six airbags and a front occupant classification system, as well as a tire pressure monitoring system, are standard. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the 2006-2011 Hyundai Accent as Acceptable (its second highest rating) for front, rollover and rear crash tests, but failed the car for side impact tests, with its lowest Poor rating.
